“The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed,” Jesus says, as reported by our namesake, St. John. We are celebrating freedom, freedom proclaimed by the Word of God, freedom given to us in the washing of regeneration of Baptism, and freedom in the body of Christ Jesus, and his blood, as it is given to us in the bread and wine, to set us free from death. We are free to live life, and we live it together, here in Youngstown, gathered around Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God.
